Secretary of State Matt Blunt has officially assumed the office his father held from 1985 to 1993. But Blunt says people shouldn’t really compare the two, because technology has changed drastically since his father held the office. He says if someone told you eight years ago that the state would be ready to accept digital signatures over the internet, they wouldn’t know what you were talking about. Blunt is 30 and is the only Republican holding statewide office. He has made election reform his top priority in light of problems in St. Louis election day and the problems in Florida in the presidential election.
