A guilty plea to an involuntary manslaughter charge has come from a Joplin man who threw a rock through an automobile windshield. The rock hit a 17-year-old girl in the car. She died four months after the incident because bacteria in the soil on the rock gave hermeningitis. The suspect admits throwing the rock through the victim’s windshield. A doctor says the teenager died during recovery, from an organism growing on the rock.
