An official with the Missouri Public Service Commission says the reason for high natural gas prices is simple–supply and demand. Supply is down because gas companies have been capping their wells because of the recent mild winters. And Sheila Lumpe says demand is up because people are generally using more gas these days, and more companies are using gas to make electricity.
