A Missourian who is on the national commission on election standards says the United States Supreme Court’s ruling in the Bush-Gore election contest makes the work of a new state commission even more important. Boone County Clerk Wendy Noren is also on the state commission being set up by incoming Secretary of State Matt Blunt. She says its a fascinating ruling, because it raises the question whether all Missouri elections will be subject to the constitution’s equal protection language.Noren is one of the 11 republicans and 11 democrats on the Blunt committee.
