The Branson school district has spent thousands of dollars to get its school buses back on the road for today. Vandals flattened tires on the buses, causing school to be cancelled yesterday. District transportation director Walt Riggin says tires were shipped in from Springfield, Kansas City, and Sedalia. He says they cost $180 to $190 per piece, meaning the district will spend up to $6,000 on them. Riggin says the vandals clearly knew what they were doing because they only disabled buses used on regular routes.
