Gephardt urges support for Bush

December 14, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The honeymoon already has started in Washington for President-elect Bush. Congressional democrat leaders are promising to put the election behind them and work with the new administration. Missouri Congressman Richard Gephardt is still the democrat leader in the House. He says even though passions ran high during the legal process, it’s time for the nation to come together. The Senate next year will be 50-50 and the Republicans will have only a small margin in the House. Gephardt says the public does not want gridlock, and says Democrats are willing to work with Republicans to avoid it.
