Movie scouts to lure film crews

December 11, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri could be the scene of a lot more Hollywood movies. So Jerry Jones with the Missouri Film Commission has commissioned more than 160 “movie scouts” to scour the landscape for the best movie scenes. When Jones gets a call from a movie producer looking for a place to shoot, Jones will put out the word to his scouts to find the right backdrop in their area of the state. Jones and his staff trained the scouts on what to look for in a movie backdrop and how to work with Hollywood directors. He says Missouri did get one mainstream feature movie recently, 1998’s “Ride with the Devil.”
