Colder, snowier winter coming

December 8, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Meteorologists are venturing their long-term forecasts for Missouri this winter. National Weather Service meteorologist Dale Bechtold says it should be an average winter, but will seem brisk compared to previous years. Missouri had warmer-than-usual temperatures the last couple of years, and especially light snowfall last year. Average in Missouri means up to 20″ of snow, more for parts north, a little less for the Ozarks. Average temperatures in Missouri are a little better than freezing during the coldest parts of winter.
