Springfield’s City Utilities are being investigated for possible criminal violations of state campaign finance laws. The city utilities company has been told to provide expense account information to the Greene County prosecutor. Prosecutor Darrell Moore says he wants to know if the expense accounts were used to illegally influence members of the legislature on electricity deregulation issues. The general manager of City Utilities says he doesn’t have any idea what the prosecutor is after.
