No defectors among Missouri’s democrats in Washington D.C. They’re standing behind Vice President Al Gore in his ongoing appeals of the Presidential vote count in Florida. Congressman-elect Lacy Clay says the party faithful are standing behind Gore. Fellow democrat Ike Skelton is confident there will be an answer to the quandary soon, and says the court appeals are an orderly process. Representative Karen McCarthy’s office says she remains behind Gore’s efforts, too. Outgoing democrats Bill Clay, Sr. and Pat Danner did not return repeated phone calls.
