Hosting a major sporting event like the Big 12 championship football game brings a lot of people into the Kansas City area. Maxine Odell of the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Kansas City says the Oklahoma – Kansas State match-up means a lot to the area’s economy. Hotels, restaurants, stores, and tourist attractions all hope to benefit this weekend. It’s estimated the game will generate $25 to $30 million in economic impact for the city.
