New ergonomic standards put forward by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are being criticized by a number of business groups. Among those angry with OSHA is Associated Industries of Missouri. AIM’s Norb Plassmeyer says OSHA’s effort to change ergonomics standards is counter-productive. Most offensive to Plassmeyer is a three week vacation that he claims is provided to employees who complain of back pain. AIM says the standards are a gift from the outgoing Clinton Administration to organized labor.
