The University of Missouri is going to be looking to state lawmakers for some help building a proposed arena in Columbia. It will eventually cost $75 million. Holden says, though, he’s not ready to commit any public money yet. He points out St. Louis and Kansas City may want some cash to help with future athletic facilities. An anonymous donor has pledged $25 million for the Columbia project; MU has another $2 million in assorted donations…and a lot of money to raise between now and 2004 if the arena is going to be built. Three years ago, a Columbia couple offered $10 million dollars for the same project, then took the offer back.
