Carnahan prepares for D.C.

November 27, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Time to pack up and move out, then pack up and move UP for former first lady Jean Carnahan. The things that made the Govenor’s mansion a home are mostly packed as Jean Carnahan prepares to move belongings to Rolla, where soon she’ll be re-packing and moving some things to Washington to be Missouri’s next United States Senator. Carnahan says she knows some people wonder if she’s tough enough to be effective in a tough arena. She says she wants to earn a reputation as someone who’s firm, not necessaily tough and fair. Carnahan says the Senate next year has great possibilities for consensus that produces progress, or division which produces stalemate.
