It isn’t Christmas in Kansas City without the annual Plaza lighting ceremony on Thanksgiving night. An estimated 300,000 people attended the 71st annual lighting ceremony at the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. This year the lighting ceremony concluded with fireworks for the first time. The lights that outline the shops on the Plaza will remain on until the middle of January.
