It will be a special Thanksgiving for a few refugees who have found a home in central Missouri. The Refugee and Immigration Services director of the Jefferson City Catholic Diocese says a few refugees from Bosnia have settled in Columbia, while some escaping the Congo now live in Jefferson City. Alice Walters says the federal government contacts the US Catholic Conference about where best to locate refugees. She says they often end up in mid-Missouri when they have family and friends located in both Kansas City and St. Louis.
