Missouri’s next secretary of state doesn’t want to have an election in Missouri turn into the muddle like we’re witnessing in Florida. Matt Blunt says he’ll convene a special task force of state and local election officials shortly after he’s sworn in. He says he wants to meet with them for 2 or 3 days of intensive discussions, and to review the state’s election statutes. Blunt also hopes to take some recommendations to the upcoming general assembly. He says several states have had problems in this election year, Missouri included. Blunt says it’s important that actions be taken to avoid future problems.
