Senator Kit Bond is pressing to have a complete investigation into alleged voter fraud in St. Louis, though he doesn’t believe fraud cost Republicans key political victories. Bond wants an investigation even though he doesn’t believe it will make Jim Talent governor or keep John Ashcroft in his senate seat. A judge allowed the polls in St. Louis to remain open past the 7:00 closing time, but an appeals court overturned the ruling and ordered the polls closed at 7:45pm. Bond says evidence indicates some votes were cast after 7:45pm and that ballot boxes were left unattended long enough to be tampered with.
