Smith Rips Media for Negativity

November 15, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri football coach Larry Smith is hopping mad. Not at his players, not at his coaches, but at the media. The Tigers are 3-7, which has fueled much speculation about Smith’s future at the school. Smith says the only negativity he’s encountered, has been from reporters, who Smith says know nothing about football. He says that the media has tried to bury him and his program. Smith was asked to point out some of the things he’s accomplished at Mizzou. He reminded reporters that in their last 50 games, the Tigers are 25-25, and he points out that in his seven years he’s been instrumental in a massive upgrade of Mizzou’s facilities. Smith says he doesn’t think the program is in decline, and that his players represent the university well.
