Quick deals with new senate

November 15, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

For the last two years, Ed Quick has been the president pro-tem of the state senate. He’s been nominated for another term by his party. But his party might not be in the majority in the senate next year. Or it might regain the majority status during the session, after special elections are held to fill three vacancies. Quick hopes democrats are able to hang onto their majority. But until that is determined, he says democrats and republicans will have to negotiate how to conduct business in the senate.Quick says he’s a gentle soul who looks forward to negotiating with the republicans on who will exercise power, and how, next year.
