St. Louis wasn’t the only place in Missouri with long waits on election day. Some voters in Kansas City waited an hour or more to cast a ballot. Shields says one reason for the delays are the voter lists in Kansas City. The entire list is divided into only two books, instead of four like other places. Jackson County Executive Katherine Shields wants a commission to look into hiring extra voting judges. She also thinks the group should consider making more divisions in the alphabetized list.
