Libertarian holds "dark horse" hopes

November 3, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A libertarian running for statewide office sees his party making progress in Missouri. Attorney Mitch Moore of Columbia is running for the attorney general’s office against incumbent Democrat Jay Nixon and Republican Sam Jones. Moore understands he’s an underdog in the race, but says people seem more willing to listen to libertarians now than in the past. Moore is running on a conventional libertarian platform for attorney general. He opposes the death penalty and wants it eliminated, and wants to end the war on drugs. He would make them legal, but regulated.
