A man suspected of robbing a bank in Hayti of almost $19,000 has been found dead after exchanging shots with pursuing police. Officers say Lamont Jackson exchanged shots with a Hayti policeman and a highway patrol trooper while holed up in a former grocery store. But police say he died from an apparently self-inflicted wound. The money has been recovered.
