Talent skips Washington rancor

With just a week to go before Election Day, you’d expect to see those running for public office busy campaigning for votes. For the most part, that’s what’s happening in Missouri. But some Missouri lawmakers are stuck in Washington as Congress continues its budget debate. Congressman Jim Talent, the Republican Candidate for Governor, isn’t there. He says he’ll return to Washington for important votes, but will spend the rest of his time visiting voters throughout the state. He spent yesterday in southwest Missouri.
