City attorney. State lawmaker. Then speaker of the Missouri house. Steve Gaw thinks he has the experience to be the next secretary of state. He mentions his work in emerging technologies, helping to get the chamber’s floor arguments on-line, and making bills available on the internet. He also says his work as a city attorney will help in the secretary of state’s role in prosecuting securities fraud cases. And Gaw mentions that before he was speaker, he chaired the house elections committee, where he learned more about the voting process and mixed with elections officials from around the state.
