Jean Carnahan says the democratic campaign to get out the vote for her late husband will not be a traditional campaign in this last week before the election. But what she means by that is not clear, even to the people who will help run that campaign. The communications director for the Carnahan campaign says the emphasis will not be on her. Tony Wyche says there will be no particular effort to “market” Mrs. Carnahan. He says the campaign is about continuing Mel Carnahan’s legacy. He and other campaign officials admit some lack of direction right now. But campaign chief Marc Farinella says that might be expected under the unique circumstances.
