The defense was better, Trent Green overcame a slow start, and the Rams swept the season series from San Francisco for the second straight year, beating the 49ers 34-24. Marshall Faulk scored all four Ram touchdowns, as St. Louis wiped out a 24-17 deficit with 17 unanswered points in the final quarter and a half. After completing just 8 of 17 in the first half of his first start as a Ram, Green finished with 310 yards passing and two TD’s. Faulk had 144 yards rushing and receiving, Isaac Bruce had 8 catches for 129 yards, and the Rams went over 30 points for the 14th straight game, easily an NFL record. Former Chief Pete Stoyanovich kicked a pair of field goals for the Rams. At 7-1, the Rams are tied once again for the best record in the league, because Minnesota lost to Tampa Bay yesterday.
