Talent, Gephardt debate taxes

October 27, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Congressman Jim Talent of Chesterfield hopes democrats and the President will accept a big tax cut bill the House has passed, despite threats by the President of a veto. Talent says the bill contains a lot of good things and there might not be a chance later to clean up problems. Congressman Richard Gephardt of St. Louis attacked the package during House debate. He says it does not guarantee any new schools will be built. The package spreads $240 million in cuts through ten years.
