A group representing small businesses refuses to give its support to compromise health-care legislation. National Federation of Independent Business President Jack Faris touched on the topic during a recent visit to Kansas City. Senator Ashcroft has gotten behind a compromise to the much-touted Norwood-Dingell Patients’ Bill of Rights, and though the NFIB supports Ashcroft, it doesn’t support the measure. Faris doesn’t think much of the protections from lawsuits provided small businesses in the compromise. Despite the NFIB’s disagreement with Ashcroft on this issue, Faris says the group still endorses the senator’s re-election bid.
