A Kansas City council committee is dealing with the high cost of oil-based blacktop for road repair. The committee is recommending another $1 million to keep up with repairs this fall. They’ve upped the annual budget for the work from $11 to $12 million. The group decided it either had to fork-over the extra money or cut back on roadwork. The emergency spending proposal now goes to the full council.
