M.U. is offering a new course for students who want a career in counter-terrorism. The class teaches such things as how chemical weapons disperse their toxins and how they’re detected. Mark Prelas, a professor of nuclear engineering on the Columbia campus, says it’s impossible to prevent all acts of terrorism, but thinks the course will help the U.S. prepare.
