Alden Says Smith is Safe Until Season’s End

October 23, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Mizzou athletic director Mike Alden says Larry Smith will finish the season as Missouri’s head football coach. Alden says after the season, Smith’s performance will be reviewed, as is the case with every Missouri coach. The Tigers are 2-5 overall, and 1-3 in conference after losing at Texas 46-12 Saturday. Missouri has lost 11 of its last 13 games against Division 1A opponents. Alden tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the decision on Smith’s future won’t be based solely on his won-loss record.
