Clinton, Gore attend memorial

October 20, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

President Clinton and Vice President Al Gore and their wives were among the national political figures who paid tribute to Governor Carnahan. Clinton, in the keynote speech, described his long friendship with Carnahan, dating back to the 1992 Presidential campaign. It was then, Clinton says, that then-lieutenant governor Mel Carnahan, endorsed the President’s bid for the White House before most others. He says it was an example of the way Carnahan spoke out on issues important to him, even when it offered him no political gain. — Listen to Carnahan funeral service at: https://www.missourinet.com/audio_archive.htm
