Recovery work continues at crash siste

October 18, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

(Jefferson County) Recovery workers spent most of the day Tuesday sifting through debris and collecting pieces of Governor Carnahan’s downed plane. The twin engine Cessna crashed into a thickly wooded area in Jefferson County Monday night killing the Governor, his son and campaign adviser Chris Sifford. About seven minutes before the crash, Sifford left a cell phone message saying bad weather was forcing them to divert to Jefferson City. Investigators still do not know the cause of the crash.
