Three bodies recovered at crash site

October 17, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

(Jefferson County) A source with the Missouri Highway Patrol says searchers have recovered three bodies at the site of a plane crash involving Governor Carnahan. The patrol isn’t confirming the identity of the bodies, but Governor Carnahan, his son Roger, and aide Chris Sifford were aboard the plane that went down in Jefferson County, south of St. Louis. They were on the way to New Madrid, in southeast Missouri, for a campaign appearance. Lieutenant Governor Roger Wilson is “acting” governor until Carnahan’s death is officially confirmed by authorities.
