Governor’s plane down?

October 16, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

(Jefferson County) Authorities are combing a rough, wooded area south of St. Louis…after a plane believed to be carrying Governor Carnahan crashed Monday night. Searchers say the rough terrain will make it almost impossible to identify victims of the plane crash before dawn. Jefferson County sheriff’s captain Ed Kemp says the plane was registered to Governor Carnahan. Carnahan failed to make a scheduled political appointment in New Madrid County Monday night. Several reports indicate Lieutenant Governor Roger Wilson is among the state officials returning to Jefferson City to await more information.
