Clinton’s cancelled visit brings relief

October 16, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri Democratic Party Executive Director Roy Temple insists he isn’t disappointed that President Clinton had scheduled visits to Missouri to raise money for his wife’s senate campaign in New York. Temple understands some Democrats in the state resent the idea that the president would take money out of Missouri during a very tough election year. Temple does say there’s a strong level of cooperation between the state and national Democratic committees. Fund-raisers in Kansas City and St. Louis were to solicit donations for Hillary Clinton, the state democratic party in New York, and the national senatorial democratic campaign. They have been cancelled so the president can monitor developments in the Middle East.
