The state prison at Bowling Green remains closed to visitors and volunteers while further tests are run on inmates. Tests last month showed 64 prisoners and six staff members had been exposed to tuberculosis. Since then, further tests have resulted in two inmates being put in isolation because they have been found to have bacteria in the tuberculosis family. That is distinct from having an active case of the disease–no inmate has been found suffering from an active case. Corrections department spokesman Tim Kniest says the reopening of Bowling Green is uncertain.
