By the time nearly 60 Midwest law officers leave Kansas City, they’ll be schooled in investigating computer crime. Specifically, they’ll learn how to save evidence hidden in computers. FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza says investigators have to be very careful in retrieving evidence from computers when criminals think they have deleted it. Lanza says detectives are learning how to dismantle the hardware for evidence in court.
