A new player is trying to land a professional baseball team for Springfield’s new Jordan Valley Park. St. Louis developer Tony Sansone is proposing a 5,000 seat baseball stadium. There’s an all-star list of owners and advisors to the potential team, including well-known sports attorney Barry Axelrod, baseball players Mark Grace and Darryl Kile, and actor Mark Harmon. It’s up to the city to decide between Sansone and local developer John Q. Hammons. Hammons is proposing a 10,000 seat ballfield.
