Teens join fight against alcohol

October 9, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

For the last five days, some Missouri teenagers have been in Washington learning new ways to fight underage drinking. Nine of them, one for each congressional district in Missouri, have been attending the National Youth Summit. Mothers Against Drunk Driving has sponsored the event. State MADD chairman Jim Murray of Diamond says it’s important for young people to talk about this with other young people—because adults can only go so far. He notes alcohol kills six times more young people than any other illegal drug each year.
