The Cardinals never gave the Braves a chance to even the series. In game two, St. Louis continued its slugfest, beating the Braves 10-4 to take a two games to none lead. The heroes were many for the Redbirds, but the first and biggest was Will Clark. After Atlanta scored twice in the first against Darryl Kile, Clark erased the deficit in the bottom of the first with a three run homer. And the fun was just beginning. Kile set down 13 straight and allowed just two runs in seven innings. Carlos Hernandez homered. Jim Edmonds doubled three times, drove in two runs and made a sensational back to the plate catch. And Mark McGwire punctuated the victory and sent 52-thousand fans into a frenzy with an 8th inning pinch-hit home run. Edmonds is 6 for 9 in the series with three doubles and a homer. The Cardi nals go for the clinch in game three in Atlanta Saturday. Garrett Stephenson is expected to start against Greg Maddux.
