A former guard who helped an inmate of the Cameron prison escape is headed to prison for five years. Hamilton resident Lynette Barnett helped inmate Terry Banks escape a year ago. They were caught a couple of months later in Victoria, Texas. Banks was doing life for murder. He faces another five to 15 years for escape, if he’s convicted in his trial later this month.
