State Republican Party spokesman Daryl Duwe, embroiled in controversy for more than a week, has resigned. Democrats have spared little in their criticism of Duwe’s statement in his e-mailed newsletter that “State Auditor Claire McCaskill let the Democrats parade her around like a cheap hooker”. Duwe apologized to McCaskill, but when the controversy refused to die…he resigned. Duwe has been with the Republican Party for five years, working the last couple as a paid consultant. He made the comment on his personal newsletter called the Missouri Grapevine, which is distributed via e-mail.
