Could be quite a vista of fall colors this year. M.U. Professor of Forestry Steve Pallardy says we’re getting the perfect weather for bright colors. After a relatively rainy summer, fall has turned sunny during the day and cool at night in large parts of the state. Pallardy says colors will change from mid-October to early November as you travel from north to south in the state. Trees to watch out for: sugar maples, sumacs, and sassafras. That is if you like red, orange, and purple leaves. Pallardy recommends river valley areas for the best scenery.
