Addicts ask to work in casinos

October 3, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri Gaming Commission is going to look into whether there is public support for changing the state’s “Disassociated Persons” rule regarding casino gambling. The rule allows compulsive gamblers to voluntarily place themselves on a list that will see them prohibited from entering casinos to gamble. Patty Farr, a compulsive gambler who worked at a casino in St. Charles, lost her job when her employer found out she was on the list. She’s convinced the Commission to consider her request to change the rule to exempt casino employees. Farr says a gambler sees a big difference between working at a casino and playing in one.
