Abortion debate reaches supreme court

October 2, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A special attorney general argues before the State Supreme Court that the legislature acted within its rights in denying funding to Planned Parenthood. And Jordan Cherrick defends the method used. The legislature wrote language in the budget bill effectively shutting out Planned Parenthood from family planning money. Planned Parenthood tells the Supreme Court it has complied with every condition the legislature has demanded. And it argues the legislature can’t single it out in the state budget. The court has taken the case under advisement.
