Compliance figures for the Census 2000 campaign were released this week, and they show Missouri has a mailback rate of better than 69%. Jim Grebing of the Secretary of State’s Office says that number is an improvement over 1990, and proves hard work pays off. Missouri’s mailback rate was among the top states in the nation and an improvement over the state’s return rate for the 1990 Census. Grebing says preliminary indications are that Missouri’s population figures have not changed enough to alter the state’s representation in Congress.
