It seems somebody really does with those Readers Digest sweepstakes contests every now and then. This time, Gladstone resident Geraldine Zollars is getting $1.1 million. Zollars’ money will be used for the college education of her seven grandchildren. Zollars says she questioned the phone call when she first heard one week ago, whether it “was real,” and says she still doesn’t believe it entirely. After federal and state taxes, she’ll actually have only about $500,000 of those dollars.
