Missouri unemployment is holding steady again. State joblessness in August remained 2.8%, the same rate as in July and June. State Labor Analyst Noel Blythe says the statistics this summer bucked a trend, when unemployment usually rises slightly. Kansas City also has an unemployment rate of 2.8%. St. Louis checked in at 3.4%. The rates for Springfield, Columbia and St. Joseph all are below 2.5% percent. Highest unemployment rates are found in Linn County in north-central Missouri where the rate is 7% and in southeast Missouri’s Wayne County, where the rate is 6.4%.
